Yes.
You can use a dial up connection but broadband is advisable.
Soon we will be launching a plug-in whereby you will be
able to make transaction entries offline and upload data
by connecting one time. In this case, you will need to be
connected only to view reports, not to make transaction
entries.

How secure is the system ?
In
certain ways, the system is more secure than traditional
PC based applications. The greatest danger that a business
faces comes from within the organization. Factors like employee
theft and foul play, virus attacks, hard disk crashes are
a greater danger to SMEs who do not have the know-how or
resources to protect themselves. By subscribing to a service,
you essentially outsource your IT needs to professionals

Yes. Due to the open nature of our database, you can manipulate the data any way you want. You
can link MySql to any third party tool to generate customized reports.

If I want to run the system only within my own office, do
I need to be connected to the internet to access my data
and accounts ?
No.
If you purchase the application and run it within a local
LAN environment, your entire data and the application resides
on a computer in your office. The application can then be
accessed from any computer without an internet connection.

How secure is the system ?
If you purchase the application and run it from your own
office, then it is as secure as any traditional PC based
application. You have complete control over your data and
it's security.

Do I need to purchase any special hardware to host the application
in my own office ?
No. The entire system is platform independent and based
on open source technologies. You can install the application
on any operating system (Windows/Linux/Free BSD/ Unix).
The application itself demands very less computing power.

If I purchase the application , do I need a lease line connection
to host it in my office so that my management can see reports
anytime ?
No.
If you have a DSL connection , you can simply use the IP
address to view reports on the move. In most cases, this
IP address changes every time you connect to the internet.
However, if you want the same IP address (static IP address)
all the time in order to eliminate operational problems,
you might have to purchase this from your broadband service
provider. In any case, the lease line is required only in
case the number of users of the system is a lot.
